Noxy’s Fearless Flair
Five steps to living fearlessly in your own flair
In the fast-paced world we live in today, we are all on individual paths navigating the balance between reaching our goals, achieving independence and success, all while keeping up with the twists and turns on this rollercoaster ride called ‘life’. It’s quite a challenge, right? Or am I the only one feeling it? Before I go on, let me introduce myself.
I’m Noxy, also known as The Girl On Site, and as a Delush Fearless Tastemaker, I look forward to interacting with you on various topics from time-to-time. I’m a Construction Manager by profession and this means I work in a male-dominated industry. I get asked questions like: “isn’t it difficult being a woman in that industry?” and the like; so a platform like this is perfect for sharing insight and connecting with like-minded fearless females.
I’ll start off with sharing my five steps to living fearlessly in your own flair:
• Always make time to relax
This step is number one for a reason! It’s so easy to get sucked into a never-ending routine from work and meetings, to friends and family, keeping up with social media, and, and, and…
Know what you need to blow off a little steam and make sure you set time aside for it; even if it means setting a reminder on your phone (trust me it comes to that sometimes). For me, a glass of wine and some peace and quiet does the trick. Simple and easy.
• Set goals! Big and small
Get into the habit of getting things done by setting goals; long term and short. Have you ever looked back a few months and wondered where that time went and what you actually did with it? Never again.
Think professionally, think personally, and everything in between. “By the end of the month I need this done”; “in the next three months I need to be here”. Make a list, check it twice, and get it done girl!
• Be open
In all senses of the term: be open to advice, be open to opportunities, be open to putting yourself out there. You’ll never know until you give it a try; whatever “it” could be.
• Reward yourself
I’ve always said I’m an advocate for the “treat yourself” lifestyle. When you associate an action with something positive (a reward/something that you want), you are automatically more likely to do it.
Reward yourself in all that you achieve and keep aiming higher as you go along.
• Be yourself
We’ve all heard this one before: no one can do you better than you. Truth!! I don’t think anything explains fearless flair more than that 😊
‘Til next time ladies! Cheers
